Jules Bunch
Jules “JJ” Bunch (they/them) is a teaching artist working at the intersection of sculpture, DIY energy, and community craft education. With experience ranging from university-level sculpture instruction to community-based workshop teaching, Jules emphasizes tool literacy, safe shop culture, and the satisfaction of building with intention. Their studio practice spans woodworking, fiber arts, ceramics, painting, and kinetic forms. Their visual art practice investigates what it means to hold space for happiness — exploring joy, generosity, and phenomena of gratitude as frameworks for optimism and wellness. They earned an MFA in Sculpture and Intermedia from the University of Iowa and a BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois, grounding their work in both conceptual inquiry and hands-on making. JJ teaches across community-focused spaces throughout the Twin Cities region.
