73131- Green Wood Shrink Boxes

Create your own traditional shrink box—a unique wooden container made from green wood sides and a dry wood bottom. Students will hollow a section of a branch, cut a groove for the bottom, and assemble a box that tightens naturally as the wood dries. Along the way, you'll learn traditional carving techniques and the principles behind shrink-box construction. No prior carving experience is required, and all tools and materials are provided. Wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing you don't mind getting covered in wood chips.
