Putting Yourself in Print
with Local Author J. Michael Blumer

– In this workshop students will receive practical advice about turning their writing into print, the marketing and distribution of self-published books, and resources available to help you in the process. Topics presented include: getting a manuscript read by a publisher; the realities of becoming published and ways to help increase your odds; how to get closer to your goal with other writing, such as short stories or articles; the pros, cons, frustrations, and advantages of agents; all about Vanity Press, Print on Demand, Self-Publishing, and Book Printers; how to get editing help; about book designers and book packagers; costs of producing it yourself; decisions you’ll face for each publishing option; and marketing and distributing.
