PRESS RELEASE:
White Bear Lake IRON POUR October 1, 2005

Come learn the art of Iron Casting at the White Bear Center for the Arts "1st ever" Iron Pour! The "Pour" will take place downtown White Bear Lake the evening of Oct. 1st in conjunction with White Bear Lake's 7th Annual ArtWalk.

"Iron Man" Kelly Ludeking will be offering two sandblock carving workshops at the WBCA on Sept. 22 and Sept 29th, 6:30-8:30 pm, the two Thursday evenings preceding the Iron Pour. The workshops are free with the purchase of a sandblock mold. Each sandblock, when carved and cast, will produce one 10"x10" tile. The sand is mixed with a catalyst which makes it easy to carve yet able to record fine details. This opportunity is appropriate for all ages, without any previous experience.

There will be a limited number of sandblocks sold for this event. A number of tiles are being designed and donated by community artists to be permanently installed around the downtown area. Come be part of this truly unique, community art event!! Sandblocks are $60.00 each, $65 the day of the event. For more information or to purchase your sandblock and register for workshop times, please call the WBCA at 651-407-0597.
