Ann Ledy
Ann Ledy returned to her hometown, St. Paul, MN in 2004 after spending twenty-eight years in New York City as both a practicing artist and academic. Ann is the newly appointed President and Chief Academic Officer of the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul. She joined the College of Visual Arts in the summer of 2004 as the Executive Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs. Ann graduated
from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree and went on for a Masters in Fine Arts degree in Painting from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Her long career in higher education began in 1979 at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where for twenty-five years she taught drawing, and served as department chair of the first year Foundation Program. Ann
has exhibited her artwork extensively in solo and group exhibitions in New York, Germany, and Korea. Her works on paper can be found in many collections including Harvard University Fogg Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Walker Art Center, and Yale Univerisity Art Gallery.
Melissa Borman
Melissa Borman studied Art and Film Theory at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. IN 1998 she received a MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. In addition to teaching Photography at Century College (White Bear Lake, MN), Borman leads an interdisciplinary summer school program at the Burren College of Art (County Clare, Ireland). Borman’s work explores the relationship
between personal history and place. Raised in the military, her family was always on the move, and this pattern has continued in adulthood. As each subsequent home is transformed from the unknown to the familiar, and then lost to change, the chronology of life is subverted by a chronology of place. Utilizing photographs, videos, sound, everyday objects, and installation Borman creates
visual stories that stand astride fiction and autobiography. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Ireland. Her work was recently included in the group exhibition Places Between at Diablo Valley College Art Gallery (Pleasant Hill, CA). Her work is represented by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery.
