ARTWATCH 2007
Our first ArtWatch event held on July 12-14, 2007 was a great success due to all the hard work and extraordinary effort of our many volunteers, artists, patrons and community businesses. This was our most important fundraiser of the year. We are pleased to announce we met our budget goals with over $21,000 sold in art, $18,000 raised in sponsorships and nearly $5,000 in ticket sales.
Due to the generosity of many in-kind donations made by local businesses, we also kept our expenses right in line with our budget. Hurrah!
In addition to our budget goals, we are on a mission to build a thriving art community. Not only did our 56 artists get to know each other better, but more than 500 people attended the free open studio days on Thursday and Friday. The community Raku firing during Marketfest brought in many new members and the pots fired were incredible! Saturday night’s Gala was a fabulous evening
of art, lively auctioning, foods, music and lots of dancing to the great sounds of the WBCA Jam Band put together by Gregg McNeely and friends, just for ArtWatch. There were many of you who jumped in to help out when you saw the need, so if we didn’t get a chance to thank you personally, please know your help was greatly appreciated.
