Watercolor

Holiday Winter Scene Greeting Cards

In this holiday watercolor class we’ll create our own winter scene and create fun holiday cards you can send to your family, friends or use for decorations. Students will participate in fun watercolor brushstroke techniques, color mixing, object interpretation and other traditional and non-traditional processes as they apply to watercolor!

This is an art class for the whole family, beginning painting for adults and art projects for children. We start with a family project, and then break into separate adult and children's groups. Painting techniques, layout, composition, color will be discussed with adults to get started painting,
and children will be doing a variety of kid’s art projects. Great chance to take an art class without needing a sitter.

Paint It—Sign It—Frame It!

This class will help you to learn and experiment with real artist’s materials. We will cover brush handling, color mixing, and color theory and composition development as we paint in various styles including abstract, landscape, and mixed media. Individual demonstrations on different subjects and special techniques will be given as desired. At the end of the session you will have
at least one matted and framed piece to keep.

Create A Play: The Circus Berserkus
SteppingStone Theatre
Everything’s running amuck at the circus! The lions are taming the animal tamers, the aerialist is afraid of heights, and the elephants simply refuse to stand on one leg? Can someone help to put things right? Working closely with a SteppingStone Artist, students will create a short play to perform for friends and family at the end of the class, complete with costume and backdrop
which they will make in class. Students will empower themselves as they learn to create characters through improvisation and frozen pictures. The class will focus on building an ensemble as students learn what it takes to put on a show. Bring any costumes from home; although, there will also be an opportunity to make costumes in class.

Acrylic and Collage Techniques

Collaging is a great way to express ideas and create interesting imagery.
This class combines aspects of acrylic painting and mixed-media. We will
experiment with texture mediums, gel transfers, paper and found object
collage, stamping and painting techniques. All materials are provided, but
feel free to bring interesting objects to incorporate into your collage
(photographs, postage stamps, feathers, etc.).

Build A Giant Snowball

This Sunday afternoon series of classes with instructor Cassandra Monson are for the entire family to take together! Come one come all to create, build and make art! Mask Making Magic

In this family fun class, family members will take turns building masks on their faces. This process uses plaster strips placed on the face – so the end product is a replica of your actual face! We will paint and decorate the masks once we have built the base.
