Keum-BooKeum-Boo – Silver and Gold
Kim Bakken-Parr
Keum Boo is known as the ancient Korean art of fusing gold foil to silver. In this class students will design and create an original piece of silver and gold jewelry. Once the piece is fired the Keum-Boo application begins. In this method, the piece is heated on an electric burner, and then 24K gold foil is burnished to the surface until it fuses with the silver. This is an affordable way of incorporating gold into your jewelry pieces.
